FORGOTTEN ARTISAN LIVING
A place to learn, have fun and practice mindfullness
We are located in Rosemount, Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Where I run educational workshops, farms visits and facilitate equine assisted learning. We grow our own food and share the experience of living life a little slower. Whether you want to cuddle a cow, learn to make sourdough bread or learn some new skills with horses, we would love to hear from you.

Forgotten Artisan Living with Sanna is truly a remarkable experience. Sanna is a compassionate and knowledgeable guide, whose warmth and care shine through in every session. One of the highlights of our week is always the time spent at the farm, where we participate in equine therapy and interact with the variety of animals that call it home. Sanna’s ability to connect with both the animals and her clients makes each visit special, creating a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. It’s clear that she has a deep understanding of animal therapy and is genuinely committed to the well-being of those she works with.
Karen - Sourdough baker
Wonderful morning with Sanna- learning a new skill of making sourdough bread and crackers and acquiring new knowledge of fermentation. It was a hands-on workshop that made it so much more enjoyable. And the brunch on Sanna’s beautiful property was amazing!
We walked away with a full tummy of yummy bread topped with Sanna’s own homemade butter, cheeses and jam…and our own sourdough “mother” starter!
Thoroughly recommend this workshop
Emma Grace - Mother
We did a lovely little farm tour here which was great. My daughter loved it, seeing the animals and getting to milk a cow. But what really made it was Sanna, the host. She was so happy and friendly and great with the kids, and really knowledgeable about the farm stuff!
HORSE LED LEARNING
Horse Led Learning also known as Equine assisted learning (EAL), empower students through horses as their teacher, to be present, heard, seen and gotten. What to expect - participants engage in different tasks such as grooming, feeding, leading or doing ground work with the horses. These activities are facilitated by me, Sanna. I am a qualified and insured facilitator. Horses are great at sensing emotions, they act as mirrors, showing how people behave and feel. EAL can be therapeutic too, helping with mental health or recovering from trauma. It's a hands-on way to learn life lessons with the help of our four-legged friends!During an EAL session you also get to meet our other farm animals such as goats, chickens, ducks and cows.

These sessions can be funded through NDIS, contact for any enquiries.

WHY “FORGOTTEN ARTISAN LIVING”
DEFINITION OF ARTISAN
"A Person or Company that practises in small scale, producing something in limited quantities, often using traditional methods."
At Forgotten Artisan Living, we are dedicated to returning to traditional practices that has been somewhat forgotten.
We embrace a paddock-to-plate philosophy. Our journey began in January 2020 when my husband Richie and I acquired a vacant plot of land in Rosemount on the Sunshine Coast.
Driven by our dream of making the majority of our own food in a humane and sustainable manner.

Having a background in hospitality and experience running my own café and catering business, I am all for using every part of an animal and minimising waste.
Prior to owning Scandic Café in Maroochydore for eight years, I ran a cheese and wine shop in Sweden, where I grew up. As a trained sommelier and cheese enthusiast, it was only natural for me to start making our own cheese and dairy products when we first acquired our beautiful Holstein x Jersey cow, Oreo.

We now also run a small herd of dairy goats, with a year round milk supply.
I am proud to share that we are producing the majority of our food on the farm. An unexpected benefit has been a remarkable improvement in my digestive health. What was once thought to be gluten and lactose intolerance has turned into a manageable situation with a diet rich in our own fresh produce, cutting out ultra processed foods.

I love teaching people a different way of looking at things.
The horses tought me that.

I am excited to show you how you can achieve similar results at home, even without a cow in your backyard. Whether it's baking your own sourdough, smoking your own meat, or making cheese and yogurt, I can assure you that it is one of the most rewarding experiences of my 39 years on this planet.

But it is not just your gut health I am passionate about.
After surrounding myself with animals, especially horses. I live a healthier life, mentally.
Stress levels are down, my way of controlling my emotions helps in all parts of life.
Reach out if you want to spend some time with the animals or join me in the kitchen for some learning!
